On Saturday 3 October 2026, more than 150 people gathered at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green, north London, for the third annual Socialist China Conference, marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Across six and a half hours, an opening rally, three panels – on AI and the new quality productive forces, on China’s foreign policy and the making of a multipolar world, and on resisting the New Cold War – and a closing rally brought together activists, scholars, trade unionists and representatives of the Chinese, Cuban and Laotian embassies.
Here are some images from the day. For a full account, see our report of the conference (or the shorter version in the Morning Star); recordings of all the sessions are available on our YouTube channel.
