Richard Medhurst: Syria officially joins China’s Belt and Road Initiative

In this impassioned and informative video, Richard Medhurst, himself born in Syria, explains both the historic and contemporary importance of this embattled and defiant Arab country’s recent accession to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Drawing further examples from Iran and Cuba, Richard paints a vivid contrast between China’s programme of nation building and the US programme of nation destruction.

  1. It will be interesting to see how Israel and the U.S. react to China’s partnership with Iran and Syria. I predict China will build a port on the east side of the Hormuz Strait, making it harder to choke off Iran’s oil. Such a port would almost have to be protected by a military base.

  2. I am from Vancouver,Canada and i wanted to say that Richard Med hurst tells it like it is.He don’t bluff or exaggerate what he talks about. His article concerning, Syria officially joins China’s Belt and Road Initiative is the best News that i have read in recent years on how countries like Syria,Iran. Iraq and Cuba have come to be able to resist US sanctions and wars and begin to rebuild their countries.Only a Socialist country like China could arrange something like this. This shows what Socialism can do.The more countries that have Socialist Gov’ts the better the world will be.

  3. Thanks God for Rich. Medhurst always there to tell the true story,,
